Octopeek joins the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance

35 entrepreneurs will represent France at the first virtual Young Entrepreneurship Summit on October 29 and 30, 2020, chaired by Saudi Arabia

Alongside 31 other French businesses, Octopeek, a pioneer in artificial intelligence and Big Data, was selected as one of the members of the 12th edition of the G20 Entrepreneurship Summit.
This initiative of the Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance has been held annually for the last 10 years to convene hundreds of entrepreneurs from the countries of the G20.
Its purpose is to issue joint recommendations to encourage growth, employment and innovation to be presented to the heads of state of the G20 countries.
As the official representative for France within this structure, the Citizen Entrepreneurs association accepted Octopeek’s application based on criteria demonstrating financial soundness and the legitimacy of the AI specialist in its market.
For four days in late October, the French delegation, including Abdelkrim Talhaoui, cofounder of Octopeek, will gather in Paris to interact virtually with 300 other young entrepreneurs from the countries of the G20 to draw up their recommendations.

Innovation and civic engagement to advance the entrepreneurship of the future

With innovation embedded in its DNA, Octopeek has always aimed to support society through the many changes brought about by artificial intelligence. The company is also fighting actively for international regulation of artificial intelligence.

“We are honored to include Octopeek in the elite circle of companies that will represent France at the Young Entrepreneurs G20. Against the backdrop of the international health and economic crisis which we frequently refer to as the ‘post-COVID world’ or the ‘new normal’, it is more important than ever to listen to the people who are working every day to push the boundaries of our economy ‒ and by extension, our society,” says Abdelkrim Talhaoui, co-founder of Octopeek.

On September 23, 2020, the jury comprising the 12 members of the Management Committee of Citizen Entrepreneurs met in the offices of France Invest, where they selected a slate of entrepreneurs based on criteria such as date of founding,  minimum annual sales of 3 million Euros, profitability (attained or nearly attained), interest in international expansion of  operations and, or course, willingness to help formulate recommendations promoting entrepreneurship that will be presented to the French government.

“We have self-funded our projects from the beginning ‒ which was already 10 years ago. For us, participating in this G20  Young Entrepreneurs Summit is proof that Octopeek is a financially sound, growing company that will play a central role in  the French Tech ecosystem and beyond!” adds Abdelkrim Talhaoui

First Fully Digital Summit

In response to the health concerns stemming from the pandemic, the summit will not take place in Saudi Arabia as initially  planned but will be totally virtual instead. The French delegation’s brainstorming sessions and the digital summit will take  place in the offices of Citizen Entrepreneurs partners, including BPI France and EY.
At the conclusion of the summit, an official press release from the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance 2020 will be signed  and submitted to the political leaders of the G20 members. The French delegation will submit its recommendations to the government of France at the 13th Annual Entrepreneurs Conference to be held at Bercy on December 7, 2020.
